Virtual Modela - Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) Simulation
Roland's Virtual Modela is linked to the Modela CAM software and 3D Engrave
software. It provides a virtual preview of how objects will be cut. It's
just like using 'Print Preview' when printing paper documents, but for
cutting a 3D object.
Easy to use
By simply selecting 'Preview' in Modela, the settings selected in Modela
are used to simulate how the object will be cut. You can watch a simulation
preview or go straight to the finished product to evaluate the results.
Point and click on the menu buttons to see different views and change
the lighting to render the part differently.
Saving you time
By doing a preview, you can see if the parameters you have set are suitable.
You can see a good representation of the surface finish and whether the
cutting bit sizes you have selected are suitable.
Time Prediction
You can even get an estimate of how long it will take to cut your part.
By changing the cutting settings such as cutter diameter and feed rates,
you can see how the changes affect machining time. You can also see a
good representation of how the part will look and if any areas are missed
by the cutter.
This saves you the trouble of cutting an object and not getting what
you wanted, saving you time and materials.
Compatibility
Only files from Modela can be used in Virtual Modela. Operating systems
supported include Windows® 95/98/Me/NT® 4.0/2000/XP.
