Modela Player- Entry Level Computer Aided Manufacturing

Roland's Modela provides entry level computer aided manufacturing (CAM). It is the perfect CAM program for those just entering the field of computer controlled machining, allowing users to learn the basics of machining before moving onto more advanced programs. Toolpath creation is a guided step-by-step process.

Easy to use point and click interface
You start by importing files from your own 3D design programs or from 3D scan data. The step by step nature of the software means all cutting options are easily configured using mainly point and click selection. There are enough features in Modela that many users will not need another CAM program. For professionals who are producing tools and require total user control, programs such as VisualMill and Mastercam are more appropriate.

CAD part
CAD files from most popular 3D programs can be sent
to Modela Player - shown here is a Rhino file.

Once all the options are set, you merely press the start button and the toolpath cutting commands are sent. Automated cutting then proceeds until the end of the program is reached, leaving you with an accurate hard copy of your 3D electronic file.

Compatibility
3D models can be imported as polygon files in DXF and STL formats. 3D scans can also be imported directly from Dr. Picza software. Operating systems supported include Windows® 95/98/Me/NT® 4.0/2000/XP.
