ROLAND JWX-10 Jewela 3D Scanner & Desktop CNC Mill

The Roland JWX-10 Jewela is a 3D scanner and computer
controlled jewellery mill for the desktop. Spend less time on the bench
and more time working on your business or with clients.
Digital technology does not replace design creativity. It is merely
a new tool for jewellers to reduce time and costs in producing custom
or high volume jewellery. Independent jewellers can use digital technology
to build their custom design business, an area that large chain store
retailers cannot service efficiently.
Flexible Manufacturing
Easy to use and compatible with all 3D CAD software programs,
the Roland JWX-10 Jewela is a fast and affordable wax master
production tool, able to produce intricate designs in only an hour
or two depending on the level of detail.
The JWX-10 Jewela and its accessories can be used to cut wax rings from
multiple sides, pendants, settings and other components for design evaluation
or production. By using different tools for one part, designs of high
detail can be
accurately cut in a short time. By designing in 3D CAD, design errors
and time spent to create modifications are drastically reduced.
The
JWX-10 Jewela fits onto a standard desk with a footprint of only 44cm
by 52cm, yet is large enough to produce bracelets and charms.
The included rotary 4th axis can be swapped with a work plate
for standard 3 axis cutting of larger design pieces of almost 140mm length.
The JWX-10 Jewela is compatible with all jewellery design packages.
Safe & Easy
to Use
Jewellery makers with existing CAD files can use the JWX-10 to mill
their designs within an hour of receiving their JWX-10 Jewela. The
JWX-10
Jewela is incredibly easy to use, including ring-holding fixtures
that secure
non-proprietary, off-the-shelf jewellery wax stock
during the milling process. It also includes 4-axis CAM software,
user manuals, tools and comprehensive tutorials.
The Roland JWX-10 Jewela includes an electronic tool-length
sensor to automatically calibrate tools when they are changed. The
JWX-10 Jewela is fully enclosed for safety and insulating noise. The
door is connected to a safety switch that will stop cutting if the door
is opened. This ensures adequate occupational health and safety. These
features are normally only found on more expensive CNC mills.
The
supplied software to control milling is wizard based so users do not
need to remember how to create toolpaths. A single button within the
supplied software starts the cutting, avoiding the need to manually send
toolpaths to the machine. For more experienced users, professional computer
aided manufacturing (CAM)
programs
can
be used, providing
industry level features.

Value
The Roland JWX-10 Jewela is a low cost CNC mill designed for jewellers
with features normally found on higher priced machines. The motor and
motion components used in the JWX-10 Jewela have industry proven reliability
from other
Roland machines so jewellers can rest assured the JWX-10 Jewela will
be reliable and durable.
The motor goes up to 20,000 rpm and will run for at least 5000 hours
before needing replacement, resulting in a low running cost.
The Roland JWX-10 Jewela is supplied with Modela Player 4 software and Qubic
can provide a range of cutters including 0.025mm profile cutters
to get you started straight away. All
you
need
to supply
is
a home
computer. Qubic can also supply a range of other 3D design and
toolpath programs for complete design creativity.
Accessories
JWX-10 Jewela users can use a Roland vice to cut slab material. Rings
can be cut from three sides, and pendants from both front and back.
ProtoWizard is a software and hardware option that allows user to cut
rings from three sides, and then 360 degrees using a rotary motion.
This capability allows rings with details around the ring and on each
side of the ring to be cut in one part. The special fixtures and software
is designed to fit onto the JWX-10 and
minimises
cutting
time
by using
very
efficient
toolpaths.
