Konica Minolta Vivid 910 3D Laser Scanner

Easy to Use 3D Laser Scanner - Automated Scanning
Konica Minolta, the world's largest manufacturer of 3-D non-contact
digitizing instruments, has developed a 3-D scanner with the simplicity
of a point and shoot camera that 3D scans 300,000 points in a single
3D scan picture.
If you can use a standard camera, you can use the Konica Minolta Vivid
910 3D laser scanner. Turn it on, aim and frame using the LCD viewfinder,
and
shoot.
The VIVID 910
has
features
like
portability,
auto-focus,
three
interchangeable
lenses, and color images equivalent
to a digital camera with full 24-bit color depth. You can export files
into a number of file formats including: STL, DXF, OBJ, ASCII points,
VRML.
The Vivid 910 scanner operates with the simplicity of a single button
click. There is no lengthy set-up, warm-up, or calibration process. With
Konica Minolta's
precision
auto
focus, there
is no need
to move
the VIVID
910
back and forth
or to manually adjust or guess at the optimal focus. There is also no
need for manual adjustment for different ambient light conditions.
3D scan variable volumes (between 100x80x40mm and 1200x900x400mm) while
maintaining precise repeatability. Three lenses (telephoto, medium, wide
angle) are standard equipment and are as easy to change as the lens on
your SLR camera.
High Speed
The Vivid 910 can 3D scan 307,000 points in only 2.5 seconds,
or 3D scan 77,000 points in 0.3 seconds. Users have the option to choose
between
the faster or slower scan times.
Automated 360° 3D Scanning

Six separate scans using the computer controlled turntable,
aligned and merged automatically into one file in just a few minutes.
With
Konica Minolta's optional rotating table, you can index the scanned
part and capture all sides in one automated process.
Portable
The Vivid 910 weighs approximately 11 Kg's and does not require a host
computer. This allows the Vivid 910 to quickly and easily moved between
locations
for 3D scanning. Users have used the Vivid series of 3D scanners for detailed
archeological onsite 3D scanning.
Complete Software & Hardware Package

Face scans merged into a single object with colour
All VIVID products come with digitizing software that enables a user
to select specific points on a target object to be viewed, modified,
modeled, or scaled with ease. The supplied software provides users
with the ability to combine disparate scans, such as that shown above,
and
then combine and merge the data into a single 3D model.
The VIVID supports
a wide range of software applications via industry standard
3D file formats.
Software
packages such as those provided by Raindrop Geomagic can process
3D scan data directly into NURBS files.
The Vivid 910 can also be controlled directly from within a number of
Raindrop Geomagic software packages.
Applications
Reverse Engineering (RE)/Rapid Prototyping (RP)
Generation of design CAD data from physical models and data for detecting
interference among mechanical parts from mock-ups.
Generation of data of parts for which 3-D CAD data is unavailable.
Verification and comparison of competitor's products with in-house
products. Database creation.
Generation and refinement of designs using actual models created through
RP.
Capture of data for finite element analysis.
Inspection (CAT)/CAE
Alignment verification and dimensional inspection of components
such as:
metal castings & forgings,
tooling dies and molds,
plastic parts (pressure formed, rotational molds, injection),
sheet metal stampings,
wood products,
composites and foam products.
Other Applications
